Mangalore : In an incident aimed at disrupting communal harmony, a mosque near Konaje was stoned by some unidentified persons at around midnight of August 14, Wednesday. The window panes of the Masjirrusalam Mosque were broken and the doors damaged in the incident.

Nearby residents who heard the sound, soon informed the masjid authorities. Mohammad Iqbal, Secretary of the  mosque  who rushed to the spot, noticed some people escaping in their bikes parked in front of the  BCM Hostel nearby.

The masjid had once earlier been stoned on the night of February 11. A Sunni-Salafi dispute was then suspected to have been the cause of the stoning.

Local police are investigating the case.
