Moral policing will not be tolerated : Home Minister KJ George

Mangalore : State Home Minister KJ George has said that the police department has been given clear instructions to tackle the menace of moral policing lest the department itself will be held responsible for the same.

Addressing press persons at the District Congress Office on June 19, Wednesday, KJ George said  a meeting of all legislators will be held on June 21 to discuss the problems arising out of drugs mafia  as well as the unlawful activities underway at pubs and  live bands. Even the fake passport issue will be discussed at the meeting which will try to evolve measures to check the same, the minister said.

He further observed that the people have voted the Congress to power in the state  hoping for a change and added the elected representatives must strive hard to bring the change which the voters want to see.

On this occasion, District Womens Congress President Mamatha Gatti submitted a memorandum to the minister seeking a  thorough probe into the ASI Srikala harassment case.

An appeal was also made to hand over the Panjimogaru double murder case to a special police team.

Legislator JR Lobo, several Congress leaders including Ivan DSouza, Ibrahim Kodijal and others were present.
