Moodbidri: The construction of a new two storied court complex here in Moodbidri is complete. Is is expected to facilitate speedy disposal of cases concerning the locals.
The court complex has been built at the cost of Rs 6.60 crores. It is located next to the Veterinary Medical hospital.

In 2004 October, Civil and judicial magistrate first class court complex in association with Lawyers’s association was inaugurated by Justice N K Jain. Bahubali Prasad was the president of lawyer’s association.
From last ten years, the court affairs were carried out in the Mahaveera college building. There was no proper seating facility and also toilets for the locals as well as women. But the new building has all the necessary facilities.
Public works department had released Rs 4 crores in the year 2010-11. It was utilised for the construction of ground floor, first floor, power supply and furniture worth 25 lakhs.
In the second phase, Rs 2 crore was sanctioned in 2012-13, which was used for the construction of second floor and compound wall. In the third phase 60 lakhs were sanctioned in the year 2013-14. With the help of these funds, Interlocks and other remaining works were completed.
The new building was constructed at a cost of around Rs 6.60 crore on a plot of land measuring 1.95 acres For those who need to wait their turn for the hearing, the court has come up with a spacious waiting hall. The court complex has a huge parking facility, Lok adalat hall, lawyer’s hall, conference hall, store room, kitchen, and a canteen and toilets for both men and women.
All the courts are located on the first floor. There is a main hall, court office, justice chamber, record room, men and women lockup, police room, AGP and APP room and a room for the lawyers association office bearers.
E-business facility will also available soon. There is also a room for equipments and a room for witnesses. There are 45 rooms in total.
It is the only hobali centre in Karnataka, to have such a court with modern facilities.
