Bengaluru: The BJP sources close to party state president B S Yeddyurappa informed that RSS leader Kalladka Prabhakara Bhat has urged him not to issue the ticket to incumbent MP Nalin Kumar Kateel in this Lok Sabha election.

According to the sources, Bhat met BSY on Saturday and held a discussion about Udupi-Chikkamagaluru and Mangaluru Lok Sabha election preparation.

According to the sources, Bhat expressed his reservation about giving a ticket to Nalin Kumar Kateel. Instead, he proposed two other names, but another senior RSS leader BL Santosh opposed Bhat’s proposal.

There is no official statement by both BSY and Kalladka Bhat in this regard.

According to the sources, Bhat is opposing Nalin’s candidature saying he is facing a lot of flak for his poor performance as an MP.

Sources say that Bhat is for issuing the ticket to Jayaprakash Hegde from Udupi. “Both Nalin and Jayaprakash Hegde are from the same community. Bhat is using this logic,” said a senior leader close to BSY.
