Mangaluru: MLC Ivan D’Souza informed today about various development schemes for minorities and urged the community members to avail the benefits under different schemes by submitting applications to the concerned authorities before the deadline.

Speaking at a press meet, he said that during the current financial year the government has allotted Rs 1200 crores for the purpose. The amount is Rs 300 crores more than last year.
“The government has allotted Rs 125 crores to the Christian Development Council for the purpose of renovation of churches, building community halls, compound walls, towards orphanages, old age homes and to institutions involved in serving AIDS patients and physically challenged/special children. The Directorate of Minorities has invited applications from interested aspirants and the last date for filing applications is July 30th,” he said.
He said that in his leadership he has visited many district headquarters to create awareness regarding various schemes and has visited Dakshina Kannada, Udupi, Chikmagalur, Mysuru, Chamarajnagar, Kalburgi and Belagavi districts.
D’Souza informed that he will be available to assist and direct the aspirants to the departmental public relation officers at the following venues in Dakshina Kannada on the dates mentioned below:
June 5 9.30 am – St Dominic Church, Ashok Nagar
June 5 3.00 pm – Holy Redeemer Church, Belthangady
June 19 8.30 am – Kinnigoli Kirem Hall
