Mangalore: MLA J R Lobo, along with MCC Commissioner Ajith Hegde Shanadi, joint commissioner, inspectors of various departments and other officials visited Pumpwell on December 12 , Thursday and examined the proposed bus stand area. He also heard the grievances of several residents of the area who have been inconvenienced due to the absence of a service road which was demolished by the NH Authority while undertaking the Talapady-Suratkal road widening works three years ago.
Though a temporary service road was laid on the land earmarked for the bus terminus, it did not last long and people residing in over 1500 houses in Ram Nagar, Vasanth Nagar, Jayanagar, Maroli and other areas are subject to continuous hardship for want of good road.
Several people who had gathered during the MLA’s visit aired their woes with Lobo. The MLA received a memorandum and heard the grievances of the locals, assuring to come up with a permanent solution. He discussed the issues with the concerned officials and advised to prepare a proper and permanent plan by January end and find a permanent solution to the problems.
Corporators Keshava Maroli and Praveen Chandra Alva, leaders Shashiraj Ambut, Gangadhar Poojary, Tejaksha Suvarna, Balakrishna kottari, Narayana Vailar, Satish, Vasudeva, Naveen, T K Sudhir, Dennis D’Silva, Krithin Kumar, Prabhakar Shriyan and many others were present.
