
Mangaluru: Mohideen Bawa, MLA of Mangaluru North Constituency is planning to donate cows to as many as 25 poor families on his 50th birthday, which falls on March 15.
It can be recalled that Mr. Bawa had faced ire from pro-Hindu organizations for supporting cattle trader Kabeer, who was reportedly shot dead by Anti Naxal Force (ANF) personnel while transporting cattle at Sringeri.
Bawa told reporters that donation of cows is nothing to do with appeasing majority. “Cow is an asset in every family. I will be donating well fed cows to 25 poor families, which will be a source of livelihood to them. Applicants are invited”, he said.
He also said that on his birthday, he will organize a press meet to show all the work he has done as a MLA since two years.
Job fair
Mr. Bawa also said that he will organize ‘Job fair’ at Bawas College, Kulur on March 15. Many industries and builders including foreign and out of state companies will be part of the fair. “There is no fee for applicants. The fair will start from 10am and will go on till 5pm”, he said and added that atleast 1,000 job aspirants are expected to make use of this event.
