Karkala: A banner put up as  part of Congress election publicity campaign at Ellare near Ajekar has been damaged by some miscreants. A complaint has been lodged at Ajekar police station in this regard. It is suspected that the banner was damaged on February 26, Wednesday night.

District Congress leader Ellare Raghava Devadiga who has strongly condemned the  incident,  has alleged that the  BJP men who are desperate  are resorting to such  acts in their vain bid to gain a political upper hand.

Ajekar Dr Santosh Kumar Shetty, former vice president of Udupi Zilla Panchayat, Shashikala, President of Kadtala Gram Panchayat, Jagadish Hegde, GP Vice President and several others have condemned the incident.
