Mangaluru: In a late night attack, miscreants targeted a bus in which BJP volunteers were plying, near Bengre in Mangaluru. Several volunteers were injured in the incident that took place on Tuesday late night.

Four persons identified as Rahul, Lokesh, Vipin and Aamir have been injured in the incident.

The assault took place when the BJP volunteers were returning after taking part in the Fishermen Meet in Malpe in which BJP National Chief Amit Shah took part. Soon, a chaotic situation prevailed in which few police officers too sustained minor injuries. The police had to resort to lathi charge to disperse the angry crowd that gathered at the spot.

A case has been registered at Panambur police station.
