Mangaluru: Dakshina Kannada district in-charge Minister Kota Srinivas Poojary on Friday, May 8, asked the concerned officials to ensure that no gas leak incident, like the one that was witnessed in Vizag, occurs in the Dakshina Kannada district.

He had convened an emergency meeting at the DC’s office on Friday and asked the officials to check the safety measures undertaken at MRPL, BASF and MCF.

“Officials should take all appropriate measures to ensure that no such disaster happens in our district. All industries should take precautionary measures in this regard,” he said.

Strict action against liquor shops selling at inflated prices

Meanwhile, The Minister cautioned of strict action against those liquor shops that charge their customers more than the prescribed price. “We have been receiving complaints in this regard and stringent action will be taken,” he warned.
