Central govt consented to provide train services for migrant labourers: MP Nalin

Mangaluru: MP Nalin Kumar, on Friday, May 8, informed that the Central Government is ready to provide the proper number of trains to facilitate the travel of the migrant labourers to their native villages.

He was speaking at a meeting organised at the DC’s office on Friday. “I have already spoken with the Union Railway Minister Suresh Angadi and he has consented to provide enough number of trains to Mangaluru. However, the receiving state should agree to receive their people,” he said.

Meanwhile, Dakshina Kannada district Deputy Commissioner Sindhu B Rupesh informed that a total of 20,000 people, who are keen on returning to their home states, have already registered.

Dakshina Kannada district in-charge Minister Kota Srinivas Poojary informed that he had already written a letter to the Central Government to provide train services to transport the migrant workers.
