Moodabidri: The person who allegedly murdered an elderly man, Sanjeev Poojary has been arrested by the police.




The accused has been identified as Jawahar, a borewell labour from Chhattisgarh. It is learnt that he was suffering from mental illness and that he murdered Sanjeev Poojary for refusing to give him water. He had also attacked Sulaiman and his wife who is a fish merchant.
After murdering Sanjeev Poojary, he stayed in Urpelpade area, at around 6am locals had seen him near Mahaveer College.
Police arrested him when he was wandering near Jainpet in Moodabidri in a suspicious manner. On interrogation him he accepted his crime.
Panambur ACP S Ravikumar, Moodabidri circle inspector Vishwanath, SI Ramesh Kumar visited the spot and investigated the matter.
