Udupi :MLA Pramod Madhwaraj has instructed all the ration shops to distribute 90 per cent white rice from June onwards.

In a meeting held at Udupi Taluk Panchayat Bhavan presided over by Pramod Madhwaraj several decisions were taken are;

1. As there is no demand for red rice from Andhra, from next June onwards 90 per cent white rice and 10 per cent Red rice will be distributed. Order has been passed to distribute Red rice grown in local area.

2.Kerosene also will be distributed by the ration shops from next month onwards along with rice, wheat and sugar.

3.Transport expenses for the supply will be increased for those shops distributing rice and wheat which are close to I.R.A area.

4.Transport expenses for the supply of Kerosene also will be increased at I.R.A/City area.

All the important decisions taken in the meeting will be discussed with the Government.

Udupi district food director Madhusoodhan,assistant tahshildar Sadashiv Shetty and all the ration shop owners of Udupi vidhansabha constituency were present during the meeting.
