MCC to observe Swachh Bharat Mission week

Mangaluru: The Mangaluru City Corporation is all set to observe Swachh Bharat Mission week from May 4 to 8.

The MCC Commissioner Hephsiba Rani Korlapati addressing the press at the MCC conference hall on May 6th stated that nearly 120 volunteers will be part of the mission.

“The volunteers will take up the survey and will upload the survey statistics on the MCC website. Through this Swachh Bharat Abhiyan we are aiming at providing individual household toilets. The urban local bodies have been given a deadline of May 8 to complete the survey” she added.

Speaking further about the mission she said that the beneficiaries will be given Rs 4,000 for toilet construction from central government and state will provide minimum of Rs 1,330 to every household.

“A help-desk will be formed to assist people with regards to the survey who will provide applications to the beneficiaries. The applicant must provide two photos, electricity bill, Adhaar card and bank details. The money will be transferred directly to the beneficiary’s bank account in two phases,” she added.
