Mangalore :In the MCC meeting held on June 30, Corporator Aziz protested by wearing black mask against his arrest for protesting over the Ice plant project at Kandak.

The MCC general meeting was held in the Mangala Auditorium. The meeting was presided over by Mayor Mahabala Marla, along with Deputy Mayor Kavitha and MCC Commissioner Ajith Kumar Hegde.

Opposition leader discussed about the financial support taken from ADB for Water supply, drainage and other developmental works. He said that already a loan has been initiated thus there is no need of taking loan again.

Answering to him, Mayor said that this project is meant to provide water for people residing in the corporation area.

Commissioner Shanadi Ajith Kumar Hegde said that no decision will be taken without the prior consent of the Parishad. We will not impose further tax on people, he confirmed.

Answering the Mayor, Aziz agitated that MCC officers filed a false case against him for which he was arrested.

But the Mayor clarified that he was unaware of the incident and asked him to withdraw the protest. Mayor also assured that action will be taken against the officials who sent show cause notice to him.
