Mangaluru: Condemning the move of water rationing in city, the members of Mangaluru City Corporation (MCC) Civic Group, an action committee of people on civic issues in the city staged a protest and urged to provide water continuously.
The MCC civic group organised this protest under the leadership of Gerald Towers, a social activist, who arrived half-naked at the venue carrying empty bucket and mug, bath towel and soap, emphasizing that people don’t have water even to take bath.
Addressing the protesters Jerald Towers informed that his wife had scolded him for organising half naked protest. “But, I did not hesitate to organise this protest as water is must for everybody. The MCC should feel the emotions that we are going through by staying this half naked protest,” he said.
Meanwhile, Gerald listed out several other demands like speedy completion of clock tower at Hampankatta, desilting of storm water drain, proper installation of cables, filling of potholes, full-fledged KSRTC bus stand among others.
