Mayor demands Rs 50 Crore state grants for developmental works

Mangaluru: Mangaluru Mayor Kavita Sanil appealed to Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on September 11 to sanction Rs 50 Crore for developmental projects in the city corporation limits.

Accompanied by District In-charge Minister Ramanath Rai, Kavitha Sanil demanded the grant under various schemes for the implementation of different developmental works as well as filling of vacant officers’ and other staff posts in Mangalore City Corporation.

Most city corporations survive on state government aid. With assembly elections fast approaching, state grants is of vital importance to the MCC ruled by Congress.
