Masjid Vice President suspended for attending Modi rally

Belthangady: A vice president of a mosque in Belthangady has been  expelled  for the sole reason that he had participated in the Bharatha Gellisi rally of Gujarat CM and BJP’s Prime Ministerial candidate Narendra Modi in Mangalore.

Abonu Maddadka, the Vice President of the Noorul Huda Jumma Masjid at Maddadka in Kuvettu village of the taluk is an active BJP worker and had attended the Modi convention. But a few had  asked the Masjid management to   seek an explanation from Monu for his participation in the rally and also to suspend him from the post and keep him out of the Jamaat committee for five years.

It is learnt the mosque had secured a grant of Rs 17.5 lakhs during the BJP tenure.
