Kasargod : A Maruti Omni van was gutted when it accidentally caught fire while moving on the road at Tayalangadi on Monday April 14. Luckily, the driver escaped unhurt.

The vehicle belonged to Joseph hailing from Madikeri but residing in Anangur. The fire broke out when Joseph was returning home after dropping his daughter at the railway station. Joseph who saw smoke emitting out of the engine, immediately stopped the vehicle and got out. Soon after fire engulfed he vehicle.

The local police and fire service vehicles rushed to the spot and put out the fire. Joseph was selling lotteries in the vehicle.
