Udupi: The three accused in the Manipal rape case ,Yogish, Harisprasad and Anand, were produced in the chief judicial magistrate court here , today.

The trios judicial custody is extended till July 29. They will be lodged in Shimoga jail itself where they had earlier been sent . They had been sent there previously till July 15 .

The case was heard by Senior division additional chief judicial magistrate Chandrashekar.

Harindra and Balachandra brothers of Hariprasad and Yogish, their judical custody has also been extended till July 29, but they where not produced in the court today with the other three accused. They both are lodges in Hiriadka jail.

The judicial custody was extended sice the investigation officer had appealed for a detailed probe into the matter.

A 22-year-old medical student of Manipal University was allegedly abducted and gang-raped by three men on June 20, when she was on way to her flat from the college library. The three accused Yogish, Hariprasad and Anand were arrested a week later. Later, all three were sent to Shimoga jail under judicial custody.
