Manipal gang rape case trial: Court hears 4 witness accounts

Udupi: Four witnesses in the Manipal gang rape case  were cross-examined  during the trials which resumed at District and Sessions Court on Monday January 20. The  next date of hearing  has been scheduled for Tuesday January 21 and Wednesday January 22.

Speaking to NewsKarnataka, Public Prosecutor T S Jithoori said that all the four witnesses who  were examined on Monday were security guards. The three  mentioned about the abduction of the medical student and the way in which the assailants took  her in an auto rickshaw.

One of the witnesses  spoke about the return of the victim to her flat at around 3 am on the fateful night, he added.

He said more witnesses are expected  to appear for trial on Tuesday and Wednesday.
