Mangaluru: Voting is the foremost responsibility of our citizens. It is one of the fundamental rights of our nation. The emphasis has to be on compulsory voting and ethical voting, said DK Zilla Panchayat Chief Executive Officer Dr. Kumara said.

He was speaking at a voter awareness and awareness programme held at Alva’s College in Moodabidri.

All those above the age of 18 years will have to register their names in the voters’ list and cast their votes without fail on May 10, the polling day. One should not abstain from voting for any reason. He said everyone should vote without fail for the bright future of the country.

On this occasion, Girish Navada Balaga performed Yakshagana to create awareness about the responsibility of voting.
