Mangaluru: Health and Family Welfare Minister and District in-charge Minister Dinesh Gundu Rao who visited district said that the officials should show their efficiency in their duties by doing an honest job of responding to the aspirations of the people and delivering the new schemes being implemented by the new government to the common man. Apathy will not be tolerated, if every officer makes up his mind he can bring about a huge change in the scope of his department, such officers will always be supported by the government.
He was speaking at a meeting with officials at Netravathi auditorium of Zilla panchayath in the city on Sunday June 11 evening.
The new government has come into being, it is implementing several schemes for the welfare of the common man, it should be an honest work to convey it to the people. This is an informal meeting and in the coming days, district-level and taluk level KDP meetings will be held in depth to discuss the issues there in depth and find a solution, he said, adding that a meeting of the Mangaluru City Corporation will also be held separately, he said.
Now the monsoon has begun, the district administration should ensure that there are no natural calamities of any kind, similarly there should be no drinking water problem, landslides due to disasters, damage to public property, falling of electricity poles including disruption of power supply, road breakage, tree fall and road connectivity should be tackled immediately, smooth flow of traffic on national highways, smooth flow of drinking water in the district, officials should ensure smooth flow of drinking water in the district. He asked the official concerned to make arrangements to supply water through tankers where there is no water.
Dakshina Kannada is a sensitive district. He instructed the police to ensure that no untoward incident takes place in the name of religion and caste, and also to take unbiased legal steps to curb moral policing, blackmail and other activities.
Mangaluru City Police Commissioner Kuldeep Kumar Jain said that the formation of anti-communal wing in the city was discussed at a high level in the concerned Bengaluru and work is underway to prepare modalities in this regard, including taking precautionary measures before the incident takes place, deployment of police at important places and important roads in the city after 5 pm.
Puttur MLA Ashok Kumar Rai, MLC Harish Kumar, Deputy Commissioner Ravikumar M R and Additional Deputy Commissioner Krishnamurthy were present on the occassion.
