Bengaluru: In a big twist to the coastal Karnataka politics, BJP national leadership now started discussion with disgruntled leader Arun Kumar Puthila who contested as rebel candidate from Puttur assembly constituency in the recent assembly election.
Sources informed that Puthila will be brought back to BJP soon as part of the negotiations which is mooted by a union minister Prahlad Joshi.
Sources in the BJP confirmed that Puthila unlikely to get Lok Sabha ticket from BJP. But he is likely to be made BJP district unit president and BJP ticket in 2028 state assembly election from Puttur.
“PM Modi is upset with way in which Karnataka elections were carried out. So, he is personally want change in the party structure in the state. As part of the exercise efforts are done to bring Puthila will be brought back to BJP,” explained a BJP leader to Newskarnataka.com.
Meanwhile, sources informed that BJP top brass upset against former CM DV Sadananda Gowda for creating rift in BJP Puttur unit which resulted in Congress victory. Gowda is likely to be punished by denying ticket from Bengaluru North Lok Sabha seat.
