Mangaluru: There is no imposition of Hindi in education through the National Education Policy (NEP), said Union Minister for Education, Skill Development and Entrepreneurship Dharmendra Pradhan. He added that the Central Government has no such intention and such misconceptions are not correct.

Speaking to mediapersons at a press conference after inaugurating the Central Research Facility (CRF) and the School of Interdisciplinary Studies at NIT – K Surathkal on Sunday October 16, he said “For us all regional languages are national languages. In the NEP, preference has been given to the native mother tongue of all states at all levels of education including technical and higher education. The process of preparing lessons in eight regional languages, including Kannada is underway, he said.

He added, “Madhya Pradesh will offer medical, legal and technical education in Hindi.”
