Mangaluru: NITK & The Institution of Engineers (India), Mangalore Local Centre jointly organised one day workshop on Landslides- It’s causes, effects, impacts, prediction, prevention, and protection under the title “Problematic Slips- Analytical Tips” under the leadership of Dr K.S Babu Narayana, Prof & Dean(Planning and Development) NITK and team.
The workshop highlighted on how these events are pursued by the engineering community with state-of-the-art techniques of data acquisition, analysis, design, detailing and monitoring of vulnerable terrains. The workshop also provided a platform for deliberation to enhance the capabilities of stakeholders.
Prof. R. K Yaji, (Ret) Prof, NITK, R. Shivashankar, (Ret) Prof, NITK, Ananya Vasudev (District Disaster Management Profesional) were the invited speakers for the workshop. Professionals from Industry, Faculty members, Administrators, Stakeholders and Students attended the workshop.
