Mangaluru: The Pilikula Biological Park has received new guests and will be open to the public in a few days.
The exchange of animals held between Rajkot Zoo and Pilikula Biologicals Park in Gujarat with an Asiatic lion, two wolves, two golden-coloured jackals, a rare horn duck, three-colored pesant birds arriving in Pilikula. Accordingly, four wild dogs, a leopard, two civet cats, four reticulated pythons, four mountain snakes, a wine snake and a sand snake have been sent to Rajkot from Pilikula zoo.
The wolf, which arrived in Pilikula, has been identified as pani, who is in danger. Wolves, which were earlier commonly seen, are now rarely seen in India. The zoo authorities are happy that endangered animals such as wild dogs and hyenas are breeding in Pilikula. Officials said a spacious enclosure is being constructed with donations made by Reliance Foundation for wolves.
