Mangaluru: Two days after Rashmi Shetty, a 22-year-old woman from Mangaluru pursuing MA in Buddhist Studies, Philosophy and Comparative Religions in Bihar, posted on Facebook about alleged harassment by a youth in broad daylight in the central area of the city, the Mangaluru City Police has decided to file a Suo Moto complaint in this regard.

According to sources, the police are contacting the girl seeking a written complaint from her. If the police department cannot get in touch with the girl, a Suo Moto complaint will be lodged.

Speaking to newskarnataka.com, Mangaluru Police Commissioner T R Suresh also confirmed the same.

It is also said that in such incidents of harassment, women can directly contact police control room.
