Mangalore : The Human Rights and Legal Cell of the DK District Congress convened a meeting on April 24, Wednesday, wherein Mangalore South Congress candidate JR Lobo sought the support of the lawyers fraternity.
Speaking on the occasion, Lobo said he needed the support of the lawyers in order to ensure a win for him and realize his vision of developing Mangalore as the second best city of the state.
He also urged voters against refraining from voting and exhorted them to exercise their franchise without fail.
Kallige Taranath Shetty, Congress leader and former President of Mangalore Bar Council, B Ibrahim, senior advocate and former MP, Purushottam Poojary, senior advocate and others were present on the occasion.
Mariamma Thomas, KJP leader and former corporator who surprised everyone by being present at the meeting, said though she was still in the KJP, she personally supports JR Lobo.
