Mangalore: Nagaraj Shetty,is back in BJP after a brief stint at JD(S).
Shetty had quit the JD(S) last week due to some conflicts between party leaders over the suspension of two of their local leaders and other minor issues.
Since his split from JD(S) he wished to re-join BJP.During one of his interactions with the media he said he was returning to the party where he “belonged “, due to pressure from some quarters.
He will be inducted to the BJP during the party convention to be held on March29, at Nehru Maidan.
When he quit BJP in June 2011,he stated the reason as groupism and internal rivaly in the party and joined JD(S) later in September, as he wished to see Kumaraswamy become the CM.
Shetty had previously held the post of the president of CAMPCO.In 2004,he contested the assembly elections from Bantwal and defeated B.Ramanath Rai thus breaking the monopoly of Congress in Bantwal constituency. He became minister in the JDS-BJP coalition government in the state, but lost in 2008 elections.
