Mangalore: Lawyer Pleads to Acquit Naveen Soorinje in Homestay Case

Mangalore, Mar 27: The journalist Naveen Soorinje’s lawyer has filed a writ-petition before the second additional district and sessions Court here on Tuesday March 26, requesting the court to acquit Naveen Soorinje form all the charges related to home stay case.

The police don’t have any proof with regard to Naveen Soorinje being involved in the home stay attack.  On the other hand, the home stay attack victim Vijay Kumar has given a statement before High Court (HC) stating that Naveen tried to stop the attackers.  Vijay Kumar has also made the same point clear in a report submitted to Press Council of India chairman Markandey Katzu.

The footages have also been presented before HC which show that police wee present during the time of the incident.  ‘Therefore, we have requested the court to acquit Soorinje from all charges according to CRP section 227 and 228,’ said Soorinje’s lawyer Satish Bantwal.
