A disturbing incident unfolded in Mangaluru when a man threatened to kill a woman and shared her pictures online after she declined his marriage proposal. The ordeal traces back to 2022 when the woman, previously married for seven years and currently residing with her son at her mother’s house, encountered Prashanth Kotian from Udupi through a matrimonial platform.

Despite initially considering marriage, the woman opted out due to concerns regarding Kotian and his family. In response to her decision, Kotian resorted to threats, including the uploading of her photos on social media and explicit threats against her life.

Allegedly, Kotian followed through with his threats by posting the woman’s pictures on various social media platforms. Consequently, a case has been registered against him under IPC sections 354 (d) and 506, reflecting the severity of his actions.
