Karkala : Suresh Moolya (34) a resident of Nelliguri was murdered at Bola-Nelliguri here late night on Thursday July 10.

It was when Suresh’s younger sister heard screams in a nearby street, she rushed out and found Suresh in a pool of blood, with injuries on his chest, head and stomach.  He told his sister that Ashok alias Pollu Ashok had attacked him and escaped.

Ashok is yet to be arrested, and a search for him is on. Sources said that he faces charges in various other criminal cases as well.

Although Suresh was rushed to Ajjarkad government hospital by ambulance, he died later.

It is learnt that that Suresh used to take coconuts from Ashok’s place, and that a quarrel over a petty issue possibly relating to the coconuts on Thursday night ended in this brutal murder.

Karkala police have registered a case against Ashok under section 302 (murder) of IPC.
