Udupi : In a heart rending incident reported from near Ajjarkad on September 28, Saturday morning, a man who jumped into a well to rescue his wife Nagaratna who had attempted suicide  along with her  child, himself met a watery grave along with the child.

The deceased is Chandrakanth (35) and his one year old son Dikshith.  Chandrakanth’s wife who had attempted suicide by jumping into the well, has been rescued and has been hospitalized.

Malpe police have registered a case. The reason for the suicide attempt of the woman is not known.
