Moodbidri : Investigation by the Assistant Commissioner of Mangalore with regard to the recent forceful eviction of Malathi Poojarti from her house at Acharibettu in Moodukonaje recently, has revealed that the door number issued to Malathi’s house by the Shirthady Gram Panchayat last year, was in order.

As the Zilla Panchayat Chief Executive Officer Tulasi Maddineni was not in office on March 20, Thursday, Assistant Commissioner Dr Prashanth summoned the Shirthady PDO Prem Singh to his office and enquired about the case.
The Assistant Commissioner scrutinized the demand book and resolution books of the Panchayat and even found that Malathi had even been penalised for constructing a house before getting a door number.
It is learnt, the authorities have not secured any evidence to prove that the Panchayat has violated rule while issuing door number.
However, the confusion still persists as to whether the land where Malathi had constructed her house, belonged to the government or was a private land.
