Major burglary in house at Mulki

Mulky : Valuables worth several lakhs of rupees were robbed from a house here in Tokur late night on Sunday  August 10.The house belongs to Leo Cutinha, a resident of Tokur Subramanya Temple road in Mulky.

The thieves who made their way into the house by breaking the back door, later directly dentered  the room where gold and cash was kept inside cupboard. Gold worth Rs 2.50 lakhs, a cash of Rs 9000 along with bag containing documents of gold pledging were stolen.

The house owner is surprised to know that the theft took place despite the family having a dog that barked even on seeing a cat.

The involvement of locals or some people known to the family is suspected behind the thefts, considering the fact that the thieves had directly entered the room where the valuables were kept.

There is a suspicion that the thieves might have used Chlorform or any other drug to ensure that the occupants of the house remained asleep when they committed the theft.
Finger print experts have arrived at the house.

Mulky police have registered the case and are investigating.
