Mangaluru: In a spine-chilling incident, occupants of a house had a lucky escape when a gas cylinder exploded due to leakage damaging the house on Monday, June 13.

The explosion took place at a house belonging to Umesh, a laundry shop owner at 9:45 pm in the night. It is said that Umesh was fixing a new cylinder when he noticed some leakage. He tried his best to fix the issue, but the leakage increased. Sensing danger, Umesh along with wife and daughter ran out of the house. The explosion occurred a minute later.

The house suffered severe damages. Fire personnel arrived to the spot.
