
Mangaluru: A LPG tanker has toppled on Mangaluru-Bengaluru NH 75, here on Sunday, March 3.
The incident has occurred at Lavatadka, close to Nelyadi at around 4 PM.
According to the police source, the LPG tanker that belongs to Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd had overturned, over 20 km away between Uppinangady and Gundya.
Dakshina Kannada Superintendent of Police B M Laxmi Prasad has said that there was a gas leakage due to which the traffic has been diverted and has restricted entry of people and movement of vehicles around the area.
He has ensured that the safety team of Mangalore Refinery and Petrochemicals Ltd is already deployed on spot to assess the situation.
Meanwhile, the traffic on Mangaluru-Bengaluru NH 75 has been diverted via Charmadi ghat and vehicles coming in from Bengaluru are diverted towards Kadaba to reach Mangaluru.
