Lokayukta Bill to be tabled at Karnataka Assembly on Feb 24

Bangalore: The State Government is likely to introduce the Lokayukta bill in the Legislative Assembly   on Monday February 24. The State Cabinet chaired by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah had earlier  given its approval to remodel the Lokayukta Act on lines of the Central Lokpal Act.

The Chief Minister and all Cabinet ministers  are likely to come under the purview of the new Bill. Besides, the Bill seeks to set up a multi-disciplinary body for conducting investigation into cases of corruption.
