Mangaluru: A leopard, which remained stuck on a fence at Pandavakallu of Bantwal was released by the locals and the forest officials.
The big cat may have had run into trouble while plunging across the fence and the piercy fence cut deep wounds on the leopard’s body. While the wailing animal remained stuck helplessly, the alert locals called upon the forest officials, who arrived at the spot to carry out a rescue operation.
Once the leopard was tranquilised, the locals and the forest officials swiftly rescued the leopard, provided some first aid and released the animal into its natural habitat.
Forest personnel RFO Suresh, Preetham, Anil, Guards Jithesh Vinay Kumar, Lakshminarayan, Jayaram, Bhaskar, Praveen, Snake Kiran, Shivaprasad took part in the rescue operation.
