Mangalore: A Krishna Vesha contest for children in different age categories will be organised  at the Kadri here August 17 on account of Janmashtami. The event has been organised by the Kalkura Pratishtana.

Speaking to reporters here on Wednesday August 15,  he said the competition will be in 19 categories including a new category called ‘Shri Krishna Varna Vaibhava.’

He said the contest will be held simultaneously at different venues in the area including Kadri Sri Manjunatheshwara Temple, Abhisheka Mandira, Near Ashwatha Katte, Shri Krishna Janma Mahotsava Samithi Vedike, Abhisheka Mandira First Floor, Kalyana Mantapa, Manjushree and  Abhisheka Mandira Main stage.

The categories have been named Muddu Krishna, Thunta Krishna, Bala Kishore, Kishore Krishna, Geetha Krishna, Yashoda Krishna,  Radha Krishna,  Shankha Nada, Shankha Udghosha. Devaki Krishna, Nandagokula, Vasudeva Krishna for different age groups. Special children too can  participate in the competition. All the participants will be given gifts and the winners will get attractive prizes, Kalkura informed.
