Bantwal: Forest officials trapped a leopard here at Amyalagudde in Chennaithody village which had frequently surfaced in streets and villages from last one month.










Cattle and dogs of villagers were missing, villagers had therefore complained to the Venoor forest department.
During investigation they had again found the leopard in the area. So a trap was laid here at Amyalagudde and a puppy was kept as bait. On sunday leopard came to eat the puppy and got trapped. Many more leopards roam the 220 acres of forest land.
The trapped leopard will be shifted to Kudremukh Sanctuary in the vehicle provided by businessman Purushotham Shetty.
Forest officer Subramanyachar, Venoor forest officer Yashodhara and staff, veterinary doctor Dr Ashok Venoor and others were present.
People gathered to see the trapped leopard on Sunday.
