Moodbidri : A female leopard was found dead at Berinjagudde  in Ashwathapura of Badaga Mijaru village on Sunday July 13. Range Forest Officer Dinesh and other forest personnel visited the spot after being  informed by the locals.

It is suspected that the leopard, aged around 8,  might have died of ill-health or some other reason. Local veterinary officer  conducted the post-mortem following which the body was cremated  in the  ground in front of the Hosmar Forest Department depot.
