Moodbidri: A commerce lecturer of Alva’s college committed suicide here on August 30.

The deceased is identified as Vanishree(25), daughter of Krishnaraj a resident of Kadaba in Puttur. She was a commerce lecturer in Alva’s PU college. She was staying at Rosedal Apartment in Gandhinagar from last three months.

In the death note found near her body she has stated that she has taken this extreme step as she could not forget the death of her boyfriend. Nobody is responsible for her death, she wrote. She had also written her father’s contact number in it.

On the day of suicide, 2 of her roommates had gone home on the occasion of Ganesh Chaturthi so only Vanishree and another roommate were there.

Another roommate who is a college student, on the day of suicide, had found the door locked from inside. When she called Vanishree, she did not pick up the call. So she informed the neighbours and also police. Later police found her body inside the room.

Moodbidri police have registered a case.
