Bantwal: The Bolantooru government higher primary school students have put the local politicians and officials to shame by getting onto worn out roads and lending their useful contribution towards repairing them.

A decision to submit a memorandum to DC AB Ibrahim urging immediate repair of the Karbettu-Bolantooru stretch was taken during the ‘Makkala Grama Sabhe’ in Narikombu Gram Panchayat on Wednesday.

In this connection, over 50 students led by Headmistress Chandravathi, decided to undertake a ‘Shramadhan’ to repair the worn out road in front of the school, so as to attract the attention of the concerned. The Gram Panchayat members also took part in the Sharmadhan.

Meanwhile, as numerous appeals made to the local Zilla Panchayat members, District In-Charge Minister and the MP went useless, the locals have decided to boycott the upcoming Zilla and Taluk Panchayat elections. Banners in this regard have also been put up.

The locals are now counting on the DC to intervene and resolve the issue.
