Moodbidri : Abhayachandra Jain, State  Minister for Youth Services, Sports and Fisheries has strongly suspected the presence of land mafia behind  the plans to set up a 4000 mw ultra mega thermal power plant at Niddodi.

Speaking to the media here on August 8, Thursday, Abhayachandra alleged that the land mafia elements have purchased land in Niddodi and nearby villages and plan to sell the same to the government through KIADB. He said it was this reason that some forces are hell bent upon having the project in Niddodi itself.

Abhayachandra on this occasion also called upon the locals to continue their fight against the proposed project and asked them not to allow the project  to be established in Niddodi.
