Mangaluru: A 55-year-old woman allegedly committed suicide here on Friday, February 3.

Mohini, a resident of Kaniruthota, Bandikotya of Kumpala is the deceased.

It has been reported that the woman jumped into a well at her uncle’s residence at Kaniruthoda, a few yards away from her house, when her uncle’ family members were away.

It is said that Mohini had gone into depression after she lost her husband about a year ago. This is believed to be the reason behind she taking the extreme step. The deceased is survived by two sons and one daughter. Ullal police have registered a case.
