Mangalore: Kukke Subrahmanya Temple has gone tech savy to improve its administration and serve its devotees better.
To begin with it has set up a computerised Information Centre at Ashlesha Lodge where devotees can book rooms and also sevas.
“The temple has nine lodges and the devotees had to walk to each in search of rooms in the past. But now they can go to the information centre to do their bookings,” explains temple Executive Officer and Puttur Assistant Commissioner, V Prasanna, adding that shortly an LCD screen will be installed at the centre as well, displaying details about the vacant rooms to make sure devotees are not misled on this count.
People can also get details about the sevas at the centre and book them in advance without having to go to the temple itself. To improve its administration and make its employees more efficient the management is distributing walkie talkies among them so they can stay in better touch with each other. Around 30 walkie talkies have been procured and 10 base stations set up at Kukke Subrahmanya as part of this initiative.
