Clash in Vittal Govt College : 4 injured

Bantwal : Four students were injured in a clash between two student groups in Vittal Government First Grade College on July 23, Tuesday over the issue of eve-teasing. Police have also registered cases against as many as 42 students belonging to both the groups in connection with the clashes.

It is learnt, a group of students assaulted a student named Kiran against whom a lady student had complained to the principal accusing him of teasing her, In her complaint with the Vittal police, the girl student said Kiran had teased her over her affair with a youth, Kiran,Harihara, Deepak and Siddique were injured in the clashes.

Soon after the incident,ABVP took out a protest march on the main streets of the town demanding the suspension of the principal. A protest meet was held near the bus stand. Addressing the protestors, Ramesh K, State Secretary of ABVP said the fight would continue until the principal was suspended or transferred. The students also accused the principal of resortinng to maladministration.

ABVP leaders Vinay Alangar, Ravi Manila, Raj Kadumata, Nagesh Iyyadi, Naveen Kanyana, Shivacharan and others participated in the protest, Later at a press meet, the ABVP leaders also demanded revoking of   the suspension of seven students for bursting fire crackers after the students council elections.
