Mangalore:The two-day Konkani Childrens Theatre Festival Rum Pum Po-2013 got off to a colourful start at the  Town Hall in Mangalore under the aegis of the World Konkani Centre. The Festival aimed at encouraging Konkani plays based on folk tales.

Basti Vaman Shenoy, President of World Konkani Centre, Melwyn Rodrigues, eminent poet and Dinesh Prabhu inaugurated the festival by unlocking a huge box from which nearly 30 kids arrived

The inaugural day saw the presentation of three plays namely ‘Dharyachi Maya’ (Witch of the Sea), Chithal Thondacho Ghov’ (Groom with a Deer Face) and ‘Ajyapachi Mudhi’ (A Miraculous Ring) by  All  India Konkani Kharvi Mahajan Sabha, Shri Poornananda Seva Prathistan, Mangalore and  Amritha Social Trust, Shaktinagar respectively.
